Q: What is a zine?
A: A fanzine (often shortened to zine) is an unofficial collection of illustrations and written works compiled into book form and often accompanied by physical and/or digital merchandise. While zines originally began as small, at-home personal creations made by a single creator, the term has since grown to include large-scale projects that involve a variety of creatives unified by their common love for a piece of media and its characters!Q: Why choose the theme of marines on their days off?
A: Simply put, while we love the marines to bits, we'd like to see a departure from their usual roles in conflicts and wars that we see in canon. Everyone needs a day off sometime!Q: What do you mean by "days off"?
A: Anything that isn't fighting or working. Think days at the beach, karaoke nights, sports, picnics, carnivals, shopping, gardening etc. Basically, anything that's relaxing, fun, and/or domestic!Q: For writers, does that mean you want pure fluff only?
A: You may reference and explore darker parts of a character's pasts and/or deeper aspects of them, that’s what makes them interesting after all! While we're looking for a lighthearted and fun vibe overall, we are open to more serious pieces and would like each writing piece to have some depth!Ex: Tashigi helps a lost kid get back to their parents, reflects on what it means to be a marine in the process/reminisces on her past = good!Tashigi fighting during marineford while reflecting on what it means to be a marine = similar concept, but not the setting we’re looking forQ: What characters are allowed to appear in the zine?
A: Any and all marines (with the exception of those who were never quite attached to the cause, such as Caesar and Vergo), as well as select few that hold significance for certain members of the cast:Belle-mere: Nami, Nojiko, Genzo
Rosinante: Law
Garp: Luffy, Ace, Sabo, Dadan
Saul: Robin
Smoker: Luffy, Carol, Daddy Masterson
Drake: Hawkins
Coby: Luffy
Isuka: AceAlthough we would like the focus to stay on the marines, we're not opposed to these select characters having a supporting role!Q: Will there be any shipping content in the zine?
A: No, the zine will be strictly ship-free.Q: How do character assignments work?
A: Applicants will indicate which characters they would like to create for in their applications, and if accepted, will be assigned one or more of those characters for their piece.Applicants are free to include any other marines (or select non-marines) in their piece, as long as the focus remains on their assigned character(s). The only exception to this may be smaller merch items such as charms, in which there isn't room for additional characters.Q: Will the zine be SFW?
A: Yes! The zine will be strictly SFW, with no content exceeding that seen in the original story (PG-13).Q: Where will zine work be conducted?
A: In a Discord server created especially for this project!Q: How old do I have to be to apply?
A: 16+Q: Will this zine be physical or digital?
A: The zine will be physical with digital options.Q: Will this zine be charity or profit?
A: The zine will be split, meaning profits first go towards compensating contributors with a full bundle + shipping. Any remaining profits are donated to a charity.Q: What charity is the zine supporting?

Mod Chenny/FaeGraphicsHello, I go by Chenny, or occasionally Fae, I have a soft spot for stoic undercover dinosaurs from One Piece and also am a bit obsessed with zines~ My experience includes Seasides & Sunflowers, and a couple of other non-One Piece zines in the last two years! My fav marine is X Drake, mainly because of how his character developed with the manga; so much depth was added in the most recent arcs!
